Musical Background and Resume

1950’s - Growing up obsessed with early rockers, American Bandstand and Rodger and Hamerstein Musicals. Especially the Everly Brothers, Elvis and Fats Domino. Played cornet and French horn in Jr. high band.

1960’s - Influenced by the British invasion and Folk artists: Beatles, Young Bloods, Airplane, Peter, Paul and Mary, Gordon Lightfoot and Eric Andersen. First Guitar in 1064, taught myself to play and performed in local coffee houses in Northeastern Ohio.

1967 - Joined a psychedelic rock band in Philadelphia ‘Warmth’ while a student at the Philadelphia College of Art. Opened at The Trauma for Gary Pucket and the Union Gap

1968 - Co-founder of Johnny’s Dance Band, Philadelphia. Early recordings at Sigma Sound and performances at local clubs like Hecates Circle in Germantown. Reformed JDB in 1973 touring regionally from Washington to Boston and eventually recording three albums on the RCA/Windsong label, recorded in NYC at Jimi Hendrix Electric Ladyland Studios. Managed by Management 3, NYC.

First album featured a majority of my compositions but I left the band to pursue other efforts in 1978.

1979 - Founded Boomer, Philadelphia. Recorded demo “Time Delay” at Studio 4 in Wayne, PA, with Phil and Joe Nicolo, co-produced with Bobby Lenti, lead guitarist for JDB. Headlined the Main Point and local clubs for 6 months. Demo’s were rejected by a dozen record companies and I retired from music until the turn of the millennium for a reunion tour with Johnny’s Dance Band in 1999-2000.

2002 - Wrote and recorded the theme song for the Reading Philles Baseball Club, “Baseballtown, the song” and experienced an uncontrollable, prolific surge of songwriting. Began recording reference tracts at Digital Dog Studios in Chestnut Hill, PA and produced several full productions to add to the sonic catalog.

2003-2006 - Began recordings with Karl Frick at his Lakestone Studios in Barto, PA and created the Jonitunes Songbook of 75 chorded lyric sheets.

2007 - Produced and released the CD “Songs from Baseballtown” in conjunction with the R Phils and currently on sale at First Energy Stadium, Reading PA, benefiting Baseballtown Charities.

2008 - Produced and released the CD “Round trip”, featuring Boomer’s “Time Delay” demos and productions with Karl Frick.
