1967 - Attended the Philadelphia College of Art summer session in lieu of proper portfolio. Accepted as a freshman- foundation courses. Elective in ceramics. 1968-69 - Sophomore major in Crafts/ Woodworking with Dan Jackson and Bob Worth. Ceramics with Bill Daley. Jewelry with Olaf Skoogfors. 3D design with “Pop” Renzetti. Photography elective. Founded ‘Johnny’s Dance Band’ with classmates Chris Darway and Paul Messing. Played at the pot shop, courtyard and The Beaux Arts Ball. 1969-70 - Junior year in woodworking, ceramics and more JDB. 1970-73 - On leave of absence from PCA to pursue music, barn renovations in Geigertown, PA and teaching as a woodshop monitor at Drexel University, Phila. Granted BFA in Crafts/Wood from PCA on the basis of a private kitchen commission installed in Chester County, PA. 1973-78 - Re-formed Johnny’s Dance Band. Performed regionally, recorded first album on the RCA/Windsong label in 1977. Left JDB and formed ‘Boomer’, another Philadelphia band in 1979. Recorded demos and retired from music until 2002. 1979-82 - Established Jackson Woodworks in Chalfont, Bucks County, accepting furniture and cabinetry commissions. Adjunct faculty member at Bucks County Community College, Newtown, PA, instructing wood majors and ceramics electives. Part time lecturer at the Philadelphia College of Art, instructing wood majors and Ceramics electives. Founding member of Guild X in Quakertown, PA. Woodworking shows at a cooperative gallery with fellow PCA graduate, Steve Ripper. 1981-89 - Sculpted a series of (40) one-of-a-kind, hand carved wooden whales. Relocated shop to Cedarville, Chester County (near Pottstown, PA) in 1983 and then to West Reading, PA in 1987 to present. 1989-92 - Entrepreneur promoting “Real Little Whales” – a realistic set of six species of whales, injection molded in vinyl and thermoplastic rubber, designed as educational toys. Program was endorsed by the Cousteau Society, The New England Aquarium, The Cetacean Society and others. High volume production and sales still pending. 1992-2007 - Furniture designer/craftsman/cabinetmaker for commercial and private commissions. Retired Jackson Woodworks and revived efforts and a singer/songwriter/ producer/recording artist/performer.
